The automobile manufacturer today announced Horizonext, a customer-focused strategy for its passenger segment business, consisting of eight new simultaneous launches, across five brands. In particular, the NGV portfolio showcased includes natural gas powered versions (called emax) of Indica, Indigo and Nano models. Select variants will be phased in the next 90 days.

India’s largest car manufacturer announced on Friday the launch of the 7-seater utility vehicle natural gas variant, coinciding with the Environment month, June 2013. With this introduction, the model will now be available in all three fuel options: CNG, petrol and diesel. It is the only factory fitted NGV in its segment.

China’s capital city currently has 2,000 vehicles powered by natural gas, and that number is expected to reach 10,000 by the end 2013, which will include 2,000 taxis, 3,143 city buses, and vehicles for some driving schools, according to the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau.

L'Hospitalet de Llobregat unveiled last week the new contract for cleaning and management of parks and green areas of the city, which includes the deployment of 66 vehicles, thirteen of which weigh more than 3,500 kilos of tonnage and run on CNG. This will reduce emissions of harmful substances to the environment by 80%. The company Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas was the successful bidder.
