The so-called ‘greenwave’ service, with new eleven single-decker buses, started running in South Reading as part of an initiative of the British bus operator under contract to Reading Borough Council. The fleet will replace the Fast Track brand, which serves Green Park, Reading International Business Park, Kennet Island and the Madejski Stadium park and ride.

Four municipalities that are part of Greater San Juan, which since last year should take over patrolling the streets, plan to install CNG kits in the automobiles in order to reduce service maintenance costs. The towns in which the transitions will be executed are Rawson, Chimbas, Rivadavia and Santa Lucía.

Along with other new NGVs, the 38-seat City Bus H.75 CNG was introduced last month by Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (Samco) in Ho Chi Minh City. The model features a Hyundai engine and meets Euro 4 emission standard. Besides, it is equipped with eight CNG cylinders of more than 1,130 liters which provide a range of 500 km, instead of the 200 km offered by imported buses.

As part of the Transport Motor Show (SIT) recently held in this South American country, the Italian manufacturer announced the commercialization of minibuses, buses and trucks with originally installed CNG equipments. These vehicles achieve a driving range of up to 400 kilometers depending on the configuration and savings of up to 43% compared to the diesel-engine alternatives.

The focus was on the technology and applications of Scania natural gas engines and the engine range available under the Euro 5/EEV and Euro 6.

Taxi company Karwa has recently acquired the first-ever car in Qatar to be run on CNG, manufactured by Volkswagen. The VW Passat EcoFuel was received by the government public transport firm’s director of Taxi and Limousine Abdulla Ali Bahzad. At the launching ceremony, the German automaker’s distributor in Qatar, Q-Auto, announced future plans to increase the number of NGVs in the country.
