The company announced the facility will be located on land adjacent to the M49, M4 and M5 motorways, near Bristol, and will be capable of refueling up to 700 vehicles a day. Gasrec currently works with a number of market-leading companies including B&Q, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

The ground-breaking new facility, which allows natural gas-powered or dual-fuel trucks, was launched today in an official opening attended by Transport Minister Norman Baker. It marks the start of a nationwide investment in fueling infrastructure seeking the ultimate prize of wiping out nearly two-thirds of the nation’s heavy goods vehicle (HGV) emissions. Running Britain’s HGV fleets on Bio-LNG could cut haulage emissions by up to 65 percent, according to a report by consultants Ricardo-AEA.

The facility, located in the city of Nanclares de Oca, has a 60 m3 tank and will supply 200 LNG-powered trucks per day. Besides, it has a two-hose CNG dispenser capable of fueling 600 vehicles a day. The opening was attended by the Director of Mobility Solutions of Gas Natural Fenosa José Ramón Freire, Álava legislator Javier de Andrés, and the mayor of Nanclares de Oca, José Javier Martínez.

The memorandum, which has been recently signed, establishes that the parties consent to interact in the production and the distribution of natural gas for vehicles across the Russian Federation territory, particularly in Moscow and Leningrad regions, in the Krasnodar Territory and along major Europe-bound auto routes.
